Our consultants carry out legionella risk assessments, asbestos management, health and safety audits and compliance monitoring on site, wherever your buildings are.
We’re an independent consultancy. We don’t sell water treatment, remedial works or asbestos removal, so when we tell you something needs fixing, it’s because it does.
The UK Regulations We Work To
If you control a building in Great Britain, the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and COSHH make you responsible for assessing and controlling the risk from legionella. HSE’s Approved Code of Practice L8 sets out what that means in practice. HSG274 provides the technical detail for cooling systems, hot and cold water systems and other risk systems.
Asbestos works the same way. Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 places a duty to manage asbestos on whoever is responsible for maintaining non-domestic premises. That means knowing where it is, what condition it’s in and how it will be managed.
Northern Ireland has its own health and safety legislation, enforced by HSENI rather than HSE, although HSENI has approved ACOP L8 for use in Northern Ireland. We assess each site against the rules that apply where it is.
When an inspector, insurer or auditor asks for evidence, your records need to stand up on their own. That’s how we write them.
